Assurance Expert
Reports to the Head of Risk and Assurance, Upstream Business. My role is to provide expert technical advice to the Project Gate Keepers through Value Assurance Reviews (VAR) and the Upstream Business decision makers through Risk Assessment for Decision Making (RADM), so as to prevent or minimize potential value leakage to the organization. Provide expertise to implement the Annual Risk-Based Assurance Plan for the Upstream Business,,Value Assurance programs and risk profiling events. Key Accountabilities include but not limited to the following areas: Risk and Assurance Planning, Value Assurance Reviews, Assurance of Upstream Business’s Major Controls, Risk Governance, Risk Profiling, Risk Performance and Risk Assessments.

Surface Facilities Advisor (Upstream)
Pioneered the efforts across handling the entire gamut of functions pertaining to define, roll out, and implement the Upstream Risk Management Framework (ERM) and a common risk management process. Develop risk assessment methods (in collaboration with Group Risk Management), including risk treatment methods for conventional and unconventional oil, gas and LNG projects. Conduct targeted VARs', utilizing the 'TECOP' and/or 'PESTLE' process to identify risks and recommend mitigating actions to protect value leakage in complex projects. Advise and facilitate risk-profiling exercises for the Upstream Business and various sectors. Provided technical support to Group Internal Audit for Upstream International audits eg Azerbaijan & Canada. Establish and validate key controls effectiveness including recommending and influencing improvements to the internal controls, where necessary (Assurance). Assigned as ‘Head of Assurance’ within UPRA from July 2014 to August 2016.
