Lead Design
Responsible for the design of seats for Range Rover Sport SVR, Jaguar XE/XF/F-Pace, and Land Rover Defender. Taking responsibility of the entire seat design from concept to production, comprising of structural components/assemblies, trimmed parts, foams, plastics (injection moulded) and mechanisms, all design work carried out using Catia V5 (part/assembly design, surfacing and drafting), Kinematics, Teamcentre (TCe) and PLM2. Also responsible for tolerance studies, packaging studies, 3D printing, fits, build support, DFM, DFA and CAE. Identifying opportunities to increase comfort using ergonomic data, reduce complexity, cost and weight, valuing attention to detail with an engaging mindset, and if necessary, working outside my comfort zone. Extensive use of manikins, restraints, homologation, package studies, safety standards, material knowledge, concept generation and ergonomics. Awarded global patent for innovative rear armrest design on Jaguar F-Type which involved ingenuity to solve a complex engineering problem utilizing my experience, motivation and proven problem-solving skills. Awarded a global patent for this novel solution. Management and support of design activities conducted in-house, offshore and with suppliers.

Senior Chassis Engineer
Senior Chassis Design Engineer for the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Design and development of all major chassis system components and specifications to satisfy performance, cost and timing. Specialising in structural aluminium hollow cast control arms and uprights. Ability to individually analyse components for stiffness. Fully trained and conversant in Teamcentre. All design undertaken using Catia V5 (including surfacing, kinematics and packaging). Generating 3D models & 2D detailed drawings. Generation of package studies for static and dynamic clearance. Working with and supporting other internal engineering functions (powertrain, brakes, wheels/tyres, body and electrical) and suppliers. Exceptional understanding of OEM and supplier-based design processes and protocols. Communicating with key stakeholders at all levels of the business to apply best practice techniques and supporting continuous improvement philosophies within the business. Management of workloads in a fast-paced environment with potential for changing priorities. Generation of wheel/tyre envelopes, packaging studies and full kinematic checks.
